*** Registered Veterinary Nurse- Full time- Fixed term (Maternity Cover) – South Wales (Across all Sites) ***

Are you a Registered Veterinary Nurse who has excellent clinical standards and is a team player? If so, you could be just the person we are looking for! We are looking for a full time RVN to join this practice on a temporary basis of 12-14 months to cover one of their RVN’s maternity leave, with the option of a role after the MAT cover if you wish.

This experienced team has been providing excellent Veterinary Care to pets across Monmouthshire, Gwent, and Powys since the 1980’s.
The practice is spread across 4 well-equipped, RCVS accredited sites with a varied and interesting caseload. The main site is in Abergavenny, with branches in Monmouth, Tredegar, and Brecon.
There is 24-hour care for in-patients available Monday to Friday at the main site in Abergavenny, with their RVN team providing on site care throughout the night. Allowing the team to continue providing fantastic patient care overnight, with great case continuity for them and clients.

About the role:

This team is made up of a team of 10 RVNs and 6 SVNs across their practices in Abergavenny, Monmouth, Brecon and Tredegar. With 13 vets and 4 well equipped, RCVS accredited sites they provide a varied and interesting case load. The Vet team includes certificate holders in Surgery and Medicine.

As well as being a group of skilled professionals, they also enjoy socialising as a team in their free time. They have enjoyed winter/summer parties, pizza, and cake (they have a resident baker) and having fun outside of work!

With excellent facilities and a fantastic team, you will be utilizing your nursing skills to promote high standards of clinical and client care alongside a supportive team. Confidence in assisting with routine operations, diagnostic imaging and nurse consultations is desired. Personal development is supported and encouraged. Previous sole charge nursing experience is an advantage, but not essential as training and support will be given.

You will work as part of a 6-week rolling rota with a combination of 8-hour shifts between 0800-1900 with inclusion on the inpatient night rota (Monday-Friday) with a week off post nights. You will also be required to work 1 in 6 Saturdays (0830-1700) at the Abergavenny branch.

The role would primarily be based at Abergavenny, although travel between all branches will be required.

The practice is in a beautiful part of the country near the Brecon Beacons National Park, with great transport links and easy access to Bristol and Cardiff in 45 minutes and 2.5 hours to London. Rowing, fell running, knitting, cooking, and enjoying the many “foodie” opportunities the area provides are just some of the activities the team enjoy outside of work.

If this sounds like the role for you submit your CV and phone Mia on 01291 645871.
