The Role
Here at Glaven Veterinary Practice, we are looking to recruit an additional Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly team! You will be working alongside 6 super, registered veterinary nurses, 2 student veterinary nurses and soon-to-be 2 veterinary care assistants, all of whom are dedicated to patient care and work to support the vets. Our nurses are encouraged to participate in all areas of the practice including nurse consults, and surgical and medical nursing responsibilities, however, we encourage you to develop your specific interests and we would support you if you wanted to undertake further study. Special interest in canine and feline behaviour, ECC and breeding would be a benefit to us.
You will work 40 hours across 5 days per week, between 8 am – 7 pm. The nursing team currently work a 1:7 Saturday morning with the following Friday off in lieu, however this is expected to change to 1:8 in the future. There is no out-of-hours with this role, however, nurses participate in the inpatient care rota Monday to Friday alongside the vets. We are happy to offer a flexible shift pattern and hours can be discussed.
We will offer you a competitive salary of up to £32,000 which will be dependent on your post qualification experience.
About Us
We are a local, friendly and rural practice located near the North Norfolk coast, in the Georgian town of Holt, just 40 minutes from the city of Norwich. Our practice has with fantastic on-site equipment, including a dental X-Ray CR and DR System, in-house laboratory, separate cat and dog wards, video endoscope, digital X-Ray, and an E-SAOTE ultrasound scanner.
We have 2 branches; our main surgery is based in Holt and a smaller branch in Wells-Next-the-Sea. We run Supper Clubs and Wellbeing events for the team and have three mental health first aiders in the team. We are part of the IVC group and if you are already part of this group and are looking to relocate then additional financial benefits are on offer. You would be joining a very friendly team, currently working with a mix of 3 full-time vets and 2 regular locum vets, 7 Receptionists, 1 Reception/Office Manager and 1 Practice Manager.
Applicant Requirements
We are looking for a confident Registered Veterinary Nurse to join us permanently. You will be registered with RCVS and have excellent communication skills. We would welcome applications from nurses who enjoy supporting clients through consults or possibly have an interest in Schedule 3.
