Registered Veterinary Nurse – Independent Practice | North West London
Role
A highly regarded independent small animal practice in North West London is continually looking to welcome an enthusiastic and dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse to its growing team. This is a full‑time position offering a varied and rewarding nursing role, with flexibility around working days and hours to suit the individual.
You will rotate between theatre, consultations, and inpatient care, working to gold‑standard nursing protocols while playing an active role in the day‑to‑day running of the practice. There is real scope to develop nurse‑led clinics and take on additional responsibility as the practice continues to expand.
Practice
This is a modern, purpose‑built independent practice investing heavily in both its people and facilities. The clinic is exceptionally well equipped, including multiple consult rooms and theatres, in‑house laboratory, advanced dentistry suite, CT scanner, physiotherapy and rehabilitation facilities, digital X‑ray, and separate dog, cat, and isolation wards.
The nursing team is a particular strength of the practice, including RVNs with Masters degrees, advanced certificates, and 20+ years’ experience, alongside nurse technicians and a strong VCA support structure. The practice is also in the process of becoming a certified Teaching Practice, making this an excellent environment for development and mentorship.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an RCVS‑registered Veterinary Nurse who is confident in all core nursing duties and enjoys working as part of a collaborative, high‑performing team. You will be comfortable handling and restraining patients, communicate clearly with clients, and be proactive in delivering excellent patient care.
An interest in further qualifications and professional development is actively encouraged and supported.
Benefits
• Salary from £30,000–£32,000 for RVNs without additional qualifications
• Up to £34,000–£35,000 for RVNs with certificates or advanced experience
• 40 hours per week with a flexible rota
• 1 half‑day Saturday in 4
• No OOH or on‑call
• £500 CPD allowance plus 2 days paid CPD leave
• RCVS VN renewal fees paid
• Pension scheme (5% employer / 3% employee)
• 6.6 weeks annual leave including bank holidays
• Sick pay in line with eligibility criteria
• 33% staff discount on pet care
This is an excellent opportunity for an RVN seeking a supportive, progressive independent practice with exceptional facilities, strong nursing leadership, and genuine long‑term development opportunities.
