About us
The role
Medivet are looking for a veterinary nurse to join the friendly and well established team at our Sherwood group.
The team works over three sites in the Nottingham area: Sherwood, Arnold Coppice and Netherfield but the nurses are based at the Sherwood clinic. The practices are all busy and well run with a really supportive team ethos. We are looking for someone who is confident with nursing clinics who ideally would like to clinical coach our enthusiastic student nurses. You will be working as part of a team with other RVNs, SVN, Patient Care Assistants and our very experienced reception team.
In this role you will be able to be part of a team that strives to provide outstanding care and support for patients whilst growing your skills as an RVN in a dynamic environment that offers a diverse caseload. Your average day will include a variety of nursing and surgical duties as well as assisting with nursing clinics. Full support will be provided as you will work closely within our experienced team and our nurses really do get to nurse. Strong mentorship and support will be available to help you develop your career and get the most satisfaction from your job. You'll be free to devote all of your time to looking after your clients and patients.
This is a permanent, full-time role working 40 hours a week and 1:8 weekends. Weekends are currently worked at our outstanding Alfreton park, 24 hour hospital.
Salary of £30,000 PA

Key accountabilities
- Nursing/discharge of in-patients, prioritising patient welfare and care. - Training of junior nurses & supporting students in practice. - Running in house lab samples and organising repeat prescriptions. - Nurse consultations.
Skills and experience
- Registered with the RCVS. - Commitment to animal welfare. - Ability to keep on top of practise protocols and procedures. - Excellent organisational skills.

It’s known for its role in the Robin Hood legend and for the hilltop Nottingham castle museum and art gallery, rebuilt many times since the medieval era.
Sherwood is a four vet practice with branches at Netherfield and Arnold, facilities available include, ultrasound, digital X-ray and ECG as well as access to all the services available across the entire Medivet group, which include MRI and CT.
