Deputy Head Veterinary Nurse – Independent Small Animal Practice
South Yorkshire / Derbyshire Border

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Deputy Head Veterinary Nurse to join a well-established, family-run independent small animal practice located on the South Yorkshire / Derbyshire border. This role is ideal for an experienced RVN who enjoys leadership responsibilities while remaining hands-on clinically, within a genuinely supportive and progressive environment.

 

The Role
Working closely with the senior team, you’ll play a key role in supporting and developing the nursing team while maintaining high clinical standards across both consults and theatre. The position offers a varied caseload and the opportunity to help shape the future of the practice alongside a collaborative, long-standing team.

 

Key Responsibilities

Supporting the Head Nurse and wider leadership team

Leading by example in consults and surgical nursing

Delivering excellent patient and client care

Mentoring and supporting the nursing team

Contributing to the development of clinical standards and team culture

The Practice

Independent, family-run small animal practice

Modern premises with excellent facilities and equipment

Varied caseload including orthopaedics and laparoscopic surgery

Strong focus on staff wellbeing, teamwork and autonomy

2 in 7 Saturdays (1 half-day)
