Cardiff, Wales, United KingdomWe are recruiting for a permanent registered veterinary nurse with a surgical bias to join a well-established practice in Cardiff Wales. This is a new state of the art hospital with modern facilities and equipment. It provides emergency and referral services as well as having 4 branch surgeries within the surrounding area.
This is a full-time position working 4 days per week on the surgical rota. The role will be split between orthopaedic surgery and general nursing duties including looking after in patients, administering medications and nurse clinics.
The development of the Hospital and since a growth in the orthopaedic department and they now require a nurse with a surgical bias to help support and develop its growth. The role is full time and can support a 4-day week rota if required. The department is well supported with physiotherapists and hydrotherapists.
About the role:
The hospital has a team of both highly qualified nurses as well as trainee nurses and supporting staff, that consistently deliver a high standard of clinical care. They require a passionate, driven enthusiastic nurse who is committed to developing their own knowledge and the practices. All RVNS are expected to have a caring, nurturing attitude with a genuine passion for animal welfare. Excellent communications skills are vital.
Hours: Monday – Friday Full time – 4 day rota can be negotiated
Weekends: On a rota
Sole charge: No
Branch work: Possibly on weekends if required
Team: Large Multi Vet and Nurse team
Consultations: 15 Minutes
Large established Veterinary Clinics including one large hospital and 4 branch surgeries
RCVS accredited practices
Large highly experienced team of Veterinary surgeons, Nurses and supporting staff with various areas of special interest
Provides 24-hour Patient care – OOH and Emergency Care
Offers excellent customer service and has an excellent reputation within the community
Provides state of the art equipment and facilities with expertise in internal medicine, surgery, dentistry, rehabilitation, surgery and more
State of the art equipment including CT Scanner
Multiple consulting rooms and Operating Theatres
X – Ray
Separate waiting rooms and wards for dogs and cats
Dedicated clinics for exotics and rabbits
You must be motivated and passionate about your work and share this and promote this ethos with other members of staff
You will be happy to work in a surgical bias position with some general nursing duties
A special interest in orthopaedics would be desirable along with previous experience
You will enjoy working as part of a team
You will have a genuine passion for animal welfare
You will consistently deliver a high standard of clinical care
You will be caring, adaptable, hardworking and reliable
You will have excellent communication and customer interfacing skills
You will be driven and ambitious and looking to take your career to the next step and develop your clinical and skills
£21,000 - £24,000 pro rata
£500 CPD allowance 3 Days
