Are you looking for a role that balances clinical variety with a rota that actually respects your life outside of work?
JR Veterinary is searching for a dedicated Equine and Farm Animal Vet to join a premier, forward-thinking team in Angus/Tayside. Whether you are an experienced practitioner or a recent graduate seeking a supportive environment to hone your skills, this role offers the perfect blend of modern medicine and traditional Scottish hospitality.
The Role: A True Mixed Large Animal Caseload
Serving the scenic regions across the East of Scotland, you will manage a diverse portfolio of equine, farm, and smallholder work.
- The Support: Work alongside an experienced, multi-branch team where collaboration is the standard, not the exception.
- The Tech: High-spec mobile digital X-ray, equine-specific ultrasound, respiratory scopes, and fertility testing kits.
- The Facilities: In-house stables, stocks at multiple locations, and a full in-house laboratory.
- Specialist Access: Regular visits from specialists mean you can keep more cases in-house and learn from the best in the field.
The Rota: Designed for Longevity
The practice believes in a culture where you work hard while on duty but are encouraged to switch off completely when you are not. To support this, they have structured the rota with:
- Protected Recovery: Guaranteed time off following a night on-call.
- Consistent Breaks: A half-day every week and the Monday off following a weekend on-call.
- Safety First: Supported by a dedicated OOH phone service and a robust lone-worker safety scheme.
The Investment: Benefits That Matter
- Time to Recharge: 32 days holiday plus your birthday off.
- Professional Growth: 5 days paid CPD with a generous budget; certificate funding is both encouraged and fully supported.
- Wellbeing: Protected lunch breaks and a genuine "team-first" culture.
- The Location: Nestled between the Cairngorms and the coast—ideal for skiing, hiking, or surfing, with easy city access to Edinburgh and Aberdeen.
