Veterinary Surgeon, Hospital Role With Soft Tissue Case Load Required At Myerscough Veterinary Group, Clayton Le Dale (Main)
Myerscough Veterinary Group, Clayton Le Dale (Main)
Clayton Le Dale, Blackburn, United Kingdom
We are currently looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly team at our practice Myerscough Veterinary Group in Clayton Le Dale. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week over 4 days Monday to Friday. We have various shift patterns between the hours of 8am and 7pm. This role will include working 1 in 4 weekends predominantly Saturday 8am – 6pm but there may be the occasional Sunday required. There will be the need for occasional night working but we do not foresee this being that often. We would be happy to consider fewer working hours for the right candidate and can be flexible to reach a suitable agreement that works for the practice and candidate.
This role is based in a busy emergency hospital that sees first opinion and referral cases. You will be responsible for inpatient care, emergency triage, some GP work is required, and we would like someone to develop the soft tissue surgery within the practice. You will work alongside 3-4 other Senior Veterinary Surgeons per day and you will be required to participate in mentoring the less experienced Veterinary Surgeons in Surgical and Medical cases.
We are an 18-branch practice situated across Lancashire. We have 6 operating branches plus the main RCVS accredited hospital. We have a large Veterinary Surgeon and Registered Veterinary Nurse team with a variable level of experience. We have a core senior team made up of certificate holders in Medicine, Dermatology, Ophthalmology and Surgery and we actively encourage Certificate study. We have a great team made up of 26 Veterinary Surgeons, 15 Registered Veterinary Nurses and 5 Animal Nursing Assistants.
We have all the usual toys plus CT scanner, Endoscopy, Digital X-ray, Dental radiography, and multiple surgical suites as well as an onsite hydrotherapy centre. We are within 1 hour of Manchester and Liverpool airport and can be in London within 2hrs on the train. The area is a good mix of rural vs city, and we boast some of the best hidden gems of walking country and great country pubs.
Our ideal candidate will have a MRCVs; certificate in soft tissue but this is not essential. You must be willing to see some GP work and get involved with mentoring.
