The Role
We have an exciting opportunity to join us in our South/West Wales area as a Roving Veterinary Surgeon. Offering you a variety of practices, teams, clients and cases - no one day will ever be the same. You will cover 4 of our branches giving you a chance to work with all our fantastic teams across South Wales.
Our ideal candidate will have knowledge of animal physiology, nutrition, and medicine with practical skills to diagnose illness, prescribe medicines, and perform imaging tests, laboratory tests and surgery. We like to keep every day as varied as possible with the appropriate mix of duties, working in accordance with the IVC Vet Charter.
The rota will include working 4 days a week from 8:30am-6:00pm with 1 in 6 Saturdays and no out of hours. We are open to full and part time applications, and we offer brilliant flexible working agreements to maintain that much needed work life balance.

About Us
We have 18 sites in the area from the beautiful beaches and countryside of West Wales to the equally stunning Gower and south coast of Wales. We are in partnership with Vetsnow, who looks after our Out of Hours Operation on site, we have a great array of talent and experience across the region who are all eager to share their knowledge and skills from orthopaedics, cardiology, soft tissue medicine and internal medicine. We even have our own Hydrotherapy unit in West Wales.
Our main areas of Focus are Burry port, Lakeside Swansea, Skewen and Port Talbot

Applicant Requirements
Our ideal candidate will have knowledge of animal physiology, nutrition and medicine with practical skills to diagnose illness, prescribe medicines, and perform imaging tests, laboratory tests and surgery. We require you to be RCVS registered, have experience of small animal demonstrate a good understanding of the importance of preventative health plans. We ask that you have experience working in an empathetic customer-focused environment and have an element of flexibility. You will need to be an excellent communicator, paired with being a brilliant listener. You will have the ability to prioritise, delegate, and make challenging decisions and be an avid team player and support your colleagues.
We need a problem-solving Vet who can effectively manage their time. We need you to be able to remain calm under pressure yet be assertive and patient when required. We ask you to have a positive can-do attitude and be passionate about your work. We will need you to have a driving license and be comfortable travelling between our branches.
