The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic new addition to join our proactive and friendly team Wright & Morten farm vets!

Covering Cheshire, Derbyshire, and Staffordshire, we provide leading veterinary care to our mix of dairy, beef, and sheep farms, giving the successful applicant a varied and enjoyable workload. Teamwork is encouraged and all members of the practice team bring their own areas of interest to the group. All CPD is supported and actively encouraged to further your career and development, allowing you to develop your own areas of interest. TB testing is largely conducted by our TB team, allowing clinical vets to focus on their own caseload. Out of hours is equally shared in a one in six rota, with back-up during the busier spring months and generous time off in lieu.

About Us

The practice, established since the 1920s, centres around the historic town of Macclesfield, with extremely easy access to fantastic areas of the peak district and North Wales. Macclesfield also offers excellent transport links with a 20minute train into Manchester city centre, or just a 2-hour train into London Euston. We are also only a short distance from Manchester Airport if you wanted to travel further afield during your generous holiday and time in lieu of on call.

About the Team and Culture

We are a team of 9 clinical vets, supported by 3 TB vets and an ATT. Within the team we also have a vet tech and qualified foot trimmer with mobile crush, offering our clients the full package when it comes to their livestock’s health. We are backed by an enthusiastic and committed administrative team who can be relied on to solve every problem.

We have two Advanced Practitioners and a CertAVP holder within the team, with another studying towards their certificate. As a clinical associate practice of Nottingham Vet School, we also have access to the wealth of knowledge the University offers as well as benefiting from having a university clinician onsite full-time.

Applicant Requirements

Experience in farm animal practice would be preferred however support will be offered for less experienced clinicians. The successful applicant will work well in a team but also be able to problem solve when out on farm. Enthusiasm to learn and develop is also a must as we strive to continue providing the best service we can to our clients.
