Our client is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join their Small Animal night team. This is a large 16-vet mixed practice, with all the expected modern first opinion facilities, including an imaging suite with digital x-ray, ultrasound and endoscopy; 2 large fully equipped theatres; drip pumps, fluid warmers and multi-parameter monitoring; dental facilities including dental x-ray; and a dedicated laboratory for in house testing. The ideal candidate will be an MRCVS who is able to work up medical and surgical emergency cases independently, as well as provide support and empathy to their clients. You will be working closely with the on-site nurse to manage an OOH caseload and ideally you will have a can-do approach and a desire to collaborate with the wider team to maintain high standards of care.
The successful candidate will be responsible for and required to,
- Provide patient handovers between day and night teams.
- Manage medical cases overnight.
- Deal with Small Animal Emergency Calls from the OOH nurse.
- Provide surgical, medical and ECC care in emergency presentations.
This is a Full-Time, Perm role working on a 3-week rolling Rota pattern, allowing you to plan plenty of downtime in advance in order to have a great work/life balance. 7 nights in every 21 (exact rota is very flexible).
