Our client is currently seeking a veterinary surgeon to join their team in their Derby based group. The client's team experiences an even distribution of cases in medicine, surgery, and imaging, with the opportunity to specialize in a particular area based on case allocation preferences.
The practice handles exotics cases, primarily involving small furries, and is well-equipped with facilities, including a dedicated exotics ward and prep room.
The role offers flexibility, allowing the candidate to work in a fixed location or cover multiple sites.
Rota:
- Up to 38 hours per week over 4 days (Full-time basis)
- Part-time hours, flexible working, and job share options available.
- Weekend duty on a 1:6 rotation with time off the following week.
Salary and Basic Benefits:
- Up to £68,000 negotiable D.O.E.
- Relocation allowance of up to £5,000
- 6.8 weeks leave, birthday off.

About them: The main hospital hosts a bustling first opinion practice, a multidisciplinary referral service, and an out-of-hours service. In addition to the hospital, there are 8 practice sites. The team consists of experienced veterinary surgeons, Registered Veterinary Nurses, Student Veterinary Nurses, Veterinary Care Assistants, and Client Care Advisors. All stand-alone practices are RCVS approved, and the main hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic and surgical facilities.
About you: The ideal candidate is an experienced small animal vet surgeon with good communication skills. They should be capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team. RCVS registration is a must, and a strong desire to grow and progress in their career is essential.
