Who They Are
This is an independent small animal hospital in Dublin, established for over 18 years and supported by an experienced team of veterinary surgeons, nurses, and client‑care staff. The hospital manages a varied caseload, including general practice work, advanced soft‑tissue procedures, and optional exotic‑species cases.
The site is equipped with modern diagnostic and surgical facilities, including digital radiography, dental radiography, in‑house laboratory equipment, and a dedicated theatre space. The team includes clinicians with experience in surgery, imaging, dentistry and exotics, working collaboratively within a supportive, well‑structured environment.
A second site is due to open soon, creating further potential for development of services and clinical pathways.
What You’ll Do
- Carry out soft‑tissue surgical procedures, including both routine and more advanced operations such as:
- BOAS procedures
- Perineal hernia repair
- Thyroidectomy
- Complex mass removals
- Extracapsular cruciate repair
- Undertake first‑opinion consultations and diagnostics as part of the weekly rota.
- Work up surgical and medical cases to a high standard using available diagnostic tools.
- Maintain accurate, compliant clinical records and follow best‑practice guidance.
- Contribute to case discussions and participate in ongoing development of the surgical service.
- Optionally support occasional exotic‑patient surgical cases, depending on skills and interest.
- Work a full‑time rota, with part‑time arrangements available for suitable candidates.

What They Need From You
VCI Registration – required to practise as a Veterinary Surgeon in Ireland.
Surgical Competence – capability to perform routine and intermediate soft‑tissue procedures; experience in advanced surgery advantageous.
Diagnostic Reasoning – ability to assess clinical findings and formulate treatment plans using available diagnostics.
Client Communication – ability to provide clear explanations of diagnoses, treatment options and post‑operative care.
Team Collaboration – ability to contribute effectively within a multidisciplinary hospital environment.
Commitment to CPD – willingness to pursue ongoing surgical development, including certificate training.
