The Role
Excited by emergency work but put off by the prospect of long night shifts and an unsustainable working pattern? We have the answer! Our night vets work split shifts, either 4.30pm-12.30am or 10.30pm-9.30am, to allow them to pursue their passion for ECC without becoming exhausted. We understand that some of the best ECC vets require flexible working (accommodation of this is what has created this opportunity!) so we will consider both full time and part time applicants. With 2 in 5 weekends, no requirement to cover weekend or Bank Holiday day shifts, and an average of 35h per week, our night vets enjoy an excellent work/life balance. The role will involve seeing first opinion emergencies and providing continuous care for inpatients and referral cases.
Package
Salary up to £65,000 depending on experience
Relocation allowance up to £5,000
About Us
We are an RCVS accredited practice located in Brighton; a vibrant city close to the rolling Sussex hills and beautiful Brighton beach, for the best of city, country and seaside living! With genuinely friendly, approachable managers, directors, and colleagues, what’s not to love?
We have excellent working relationships with our member practices. Our policy of keeping member practice inpatients in hospital until they are ready to be treated as outpatients, and not transferring them backwards and forwards to member practices, allows case continuity as well as fostering good client relationships and patient welfare. We maintain high clinical standards with extensive point-of-care diagnostics available to facilitate this. We offer an interesting, varied caseload with lovely, committed clients who want the best for their pets.
We have on-site Specialists and Advanced Practitioners in cardiorespiratory medicine, imaging, ECC and endoscopy and our vets are supported overnight from a fantastic team of night RVNs, many of whom have further ECC qualifications, and dedicated ACAs. There is access to a wide range of equipment including CT, laparoscopy, and extensive in-house blood tests.
Applicant Requirements
We are looking for a vet who is experienced in emergency and critical care, however if you're new to the ECC world, if you've got the enthusiasm, we have the skill to teach you. You will have a desire to drive forward clinical standards and client care, and work within evidence-based medicine. Exceptional care and communication are at the heart of who we are and how we act with our clients and colleagues alike. Most of all, you should have a team mentality as we are a close-knit, friendly practice.
