Looking for a position that offers genuine variety in a fantastic coastal setting?
We’re seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join our warm, supportive team at our RCVS‑accredited Brighton Veterinary Hospital, working across an exciting 50/50 caseload of exotics/ cats and dogs.
About Us
For 45 years, Coastway Vets has been committed to delivering exceptional clinical care to pets across the region. Our central Brighton hospital is complemented by five fully equipped branches, and we also provide out‑of‑hours services for several neighbouring practices.
Our established specialised exotic department benefits from a dedicated ward and an experienced, highly skilled nursing team. The hospital is purpose‑designed and equipped with advanced diagnostic and surgical technology, including CT, ultrasound, digital x‑ray, laparoscopy, rigid and flexible endoscopy, and a fully equipped in‑house laboratory. Separate wards for cats, dogs, exotics, isolation and day procedures help us maintain excellent standards across all species.
Our team includes multiple certificate holders covering a broad range of clinical interests, from orthopaedics and ophthalmology to advanced imaging and exotics. With both day and out‑of‑hours teams working closely together, we foster a strong culture of professional development, offering extensive in‑house and external CPD opportunities.
What’s it really like to be part of our exotics team? Here’s how one of our vets summed it up:
The exotics team is full of strong, smart individuals who make up an even stronger, largely autonomous team within the hospital. There is a true culture of improvement both within ourselves, but also a desire to teach each other help each other grow. We laugh together, cry together, but we've all made genuine friendships that extend into outside of work. The comforting nature of our team allows people to come out of their shell and find who they are. We find that the vets feel really supported by their nurses, and vice-versa. We have a close relationship with the community as well in our work with local wildlife groups which can bring a stronger sense of purpose. Overall, it really is a good place to work, the veterinary industry can be full of challenges but having such a supportive and good-natured team around you makes all the difference.
