Permanent Full Time Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon - Essex - Ref: ST12065
Essex, United Kingdom
Want to work with an exceptional local practice as part of Europe’s leading veterinary care provider? My client’s variety of large and small animal cases in Essex makes their practice a unique and exciting place to work.
With a recent expansion to their practice to accommodate their loyal and growing client base, my client is now seeking an additional small animal Vet to join their accomplished and friendly team. They have full surgical facilities for in-house procedures and have regular visiting specialist surgeons.
The role requires working a 4-day week of 40 hours with some scheduled weekend work. They could also be open to negotiating a part time position to the right candidate.
Facilities within several buildings include separate dog and cat kennels, dental room and a spacious theatre with all the required diagnostic equipment including, endoscopes, ultrasound, diathermy and digital x-ray.
The practice holds a wide range of skills between them including some more advanced orthopaedic and cardiology and are a supportive close-knit bunch who really enjoy working together.
They are happy to embrace any new skills you may bring their way, or aid in development of new ones. They encourage CPD including undertaking a certificate if that is something you would be keen to do.
The organization of almost 50 staff include 6 accomplished small animal vets, 10 qualified nurses, plus junior nurses and kennel assistants and a team of knowledgeable receptionists and administrative staff. The large animal team consists of approximately 20 experienced equine vets, nurses and stable and yard assistants.
The salary is up to £55,000 based on a full-time position.
Ideally, some experience as a small animal vet would be wonderful due to the busy nature of their days, however they are equipped to deal with less experienced candidates and are willing to help and nurture a less experienced small animal vet.
Benefits:
• 5 weeks paid holiday not including bank holidays
• 5 days paid CPD leave + training support
• Paid bereavement leave
• £1250 CPD Allowance per annum
• Private Medical Insurance & free flu jabs
