Join our dynamic client in Basildon, they are actively seeking a skilled and experienced veterinary surgeon to complement their friendly and established team.
The state-of-the-art practice boasts a purpose-built facility with advanced equipment, including digital X-ray, flexible and rigid endoscopes, a 16-slice CT scanner, and an advanced MRI scanner. They prioritize the use of minimally invasive procedures, such as otoendoscopy, rhinoscopy, bronchoscopy, gastroendoscopy, and lap-assisted surgeries. With a focus on pain management, they employ cutting-edge techniques and technologies, including nerve blocks, CRIs, and the latest advancements in anaesthesia.
Recent expansions have added surgical theatres, consult rooms, and a spacious reception area, enhancing their ability to provide top-notch services. Our caseload features a diverse mix, with approximately 60% dogs and 40% cats. In-house orthopaedic procedures, including patella luxation, fracture repairs, and cruciate surgeries with TPLO, contribute to the variety of cases we handle.
As a member of the dedicated team, you'll work alongside 5 vets, 5 registered veterinary nurses, 2 student nurses, 3 veterinary care assistants, 5 receptionists, 1 client account manager, and 1 practice manager. They encourage professional development and offer a generous CPD allowance, supporting the sponsorship of certificates or further studies for the right candidate.
They are looking for an experienced vet with a strong surgical background, preferably with 2-3 years of experience. While orthopaedic experience is advantageous, it's not mandatory as there will be opportunities for in-house training, including advanced orthopaedic surgeries like TPLO. The role can be either full or part-time (minimum 27 hours) with a manageable 1 in 4-5 weekend rota (Saturday and Sunday). There are no out-of-hours responsibilities, but confidence in carrying out sole charge duties is essential.
