Surgical certificate holder role in Essex with orthopaedic focus, modern facilities, multi‑site clinical support, and access to advanced imaging.
Who They Are
This is a multi‑site, RCVS‑accredited small animal practice based across Essex, operating within a modern clinical environment supported by experienced day and night teams. The network includes colleagues with further qualifications in ophthalmology, dermatology, internal medicine, cardiology, diagnostic imaging and small animal surgery, creating a highly collaborative clinical culture with extensive opportunities for case discussion and shared learning.
The newly reopened Harlow site offers multiple consulting rooms, a dedicated theatre, digital imaging, and in‑house laboratory facilities, while nearby hospital facilities provide access to CT, MRI and endoscopy, supporting more advanced diagnostics and follow‑up care where appropriate.
What You’ll Do
- Provide orthopaedic and soft‑tissue surgical procedures, appropriate to certificate‑level practice.
- Deliver first‑opinion consultations as required, ensuring smooth integration between surgical and consulting duties.
- Manage your own caseload with a focus on surgical and orthopaedic work, including fracture repairs and cruciate procedures.
- Work as part of a 2–3 vet team at the Harlow site, supported by experienced registered veterinary nurses and new‑graduate colleagues.
- Utilise advanced diagnostic support from nearby hospital facilities for CT, MRI, and scoped procedures, with the option to follow your own cases.
- Participate in the weekend rota (1 in 10 on‑call for emergencies, no routine out‑of‑hours).
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and work in line with RCVS best practice guidelines.
Full‑time (40 hours) or part‑time rotas can both be considered.
