Hospital Emergency & Critical Care DAY/TWILIGHT Roles
Valley Vets are looking for an exceptional vet to join our ECC team.
Looking for a role with balance?
In this ECC position at Valley Vets you can maximise a satisfying clinical role with a great quality of life…experience a rota that works for you with 4 days on, 4 days off!
The rota includes both day and twilight shifts:
🌞- day shifts focusing on inpatient care and workups
🌜 - twilight shifts are centred around urgent and emergency consultations
A perfect blend of challenge, variety and flexibility
We provide out of hours provision for around 40 local practices covering beyond the Cardiff area, meaning that we see a very wide and varied caseload of both medical and surgical cases. Our ECC team works closely with our first opinion vets to ensure the day runs smoothly for everyone (most days at least!).
This role will not involve any sole-charge work, but you will be expected to work alongside a second vet leading a clinical team to manage a busy caseload, so the role is not suitable for people who are not yet comfortable working up ECC cases to a high standard.
- Great work life balance - 4 days on, 4 days off (comprising 4 day shifts, 4 days off, 4 twilight shifts, 4 days off, etc.)
- Fully supported by a large team of RVNs, ACAs and Receptionists
- No long night shifts- our permanent night vets cover these!
- No on-call or sole-charge work
- Certificate study/clinical development fully supported

Our modern, RCVS accredited veterinary hospital is situated in Gwaelod-y-Garth just outside Cardiff.
