Hospital Emergency & Critical Care DAY/TWILIGHT Roles

Valley Vets are looking for an exceptional vet to join our ECC team.

Looking for a role with balance?

In this ECC position at Valley Vets you can maximise a satisfying clinical role with a great quality of life…experience a rota that works for you with 4 days on, 4 days off!

The rota includes both day and twilight shifts:

🌞- day shifts focusing on inpatient care and workups

🌜 - twilight shifts are centred around urgent and emergency consultations

A perfect blend of challenge, variety and flexibility

We provide out of hours provision for around 40 local practices covering beyond the Cardiff area, meaning that we see a very wide and varied caseload of both medical and surgical cases. Our ECC team works closely with our first opinion vets to ensure the day runs smoothly for everyone (most days at least!).

This role will not involve any sole-charge work, but you will be expected to work alongside a second vet leading a clinical team to manage a busy caseload, so the role is not suitable for people who are not yet comfortable working up ECC cases to a high standard.

About us:

Our modern, RCVS accredited veterinary hospital is situated in Gwaelod-y-Garth just outside Cardiff.

We pride ourselves on investing both in our team and our equipment and facilities, providing an excellent platform for our team to be able to work cases up fully and pursue their personal clinical interests.

The Local Area:

Valley Vets is lucky to be situated in an extremely diverse area. South Wales and in particular, Cardiff and its surroundings, really are something very special. Within easy commuting distance of our practice, you can be living in the vibrant city centre of Cardiff, surround yourself with nature and tranquillity in the coastal towns of the Vale of Glamorgan, or the mountains of the Valleys and Brecon Beacons National Park. The area really does have something for everyone.

Sports facilities are extensive and broad-ranging: from the International Sports Village in Cardiff to UK-renowned mountain bike trails in Merthyr Tydfil and Cwmbran, beautiful walks on the Welsh Coastal Path or mountain and waterfall walks in the Brecon Beacons National Park, there really is something for everyone.
