An award-winning, independent veterinary group is seeking a Surgical Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join its London team in a newly created role. This is an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Veterinary Practitioner (AVP), Surgical Senior Vet, or certificate holder in orthopaedics to work across three well-equipped surgeries within easy reach of Central London.
The Role
This position offers a unique opportunity to work across three established practices, all conveniently located within 30 minutes of Central London by underground or overground, or approximately 45 minutes by car.
With approximately 12,000 active clients registered across the London sites, there is an established and ready caseload for in-house orthopaedic and complex soft tissue procedures. The role also provides scope to grow services further, attract new clients, and accept external referrals.
The role is surgically biased, with a focus on orthopaedics and complex soft tissue surgery. It also includes a small number of morning and afternoon consultations to support surgical case development and post-operative care. Dedicated daily administrative time is built into the schedule.
As a senior clinical presence across multiple sites, the successful candidate will:
- Deliver consistently high standards of clinical care and client service
- Train, mentor, and support veterinary colleagues
- Build strong relationships with practice teams and clients
- Thrive in a flexible, multi-site working environment
- Demonstrate confidence, adaptability, and excellent communication skills
The Environment
The successful candidate will work in spacious, purpose-built, modern surgeries designed with patient care, client experience, and colleague wellbeing in mind. Practices are equipped with advanced surgical and diagnostic technology to support high clinical standards and case progression.
Benefits
To attract and retain top talent, the group offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
- Up to £80,000 basic salary (DOE)
- 25 days’ annual leave (FTE)
- Quarterly recognition payments
- Electric company car scheme (£500 per month lease value) or £200 per month car allowance plus mileage
- Enhanced maternity and paternity pay
- Income protection
- Temporary on-site accommodation
- Employee benefits and retail discounts
- Health and wellbeing support programme
- Funded professional memberships
- Staff pet care discounts
- Generous CPD allowance
- Internal leadership development training
About the Group
The role is within one of the UK’s largest independent, family-owned veterinary groups, with a strong nationwide presence. The organisation is committed to delivering exceptional care within local communities, helping pets live long, healthy, and happy lives.
Its modern, state-of-the-art surgeries are light, spacious, and thoughtfully designed. The group fosters an environment where clinical excellence is prioritised, colleagues feel supported and valued, patients remain calm, and clients feel confident in the care provided.
This is a rare opportunity for an experienced surgical veterinary professional to shape and lead orthopaedic services across a thriving London region while enjoying flexibility, autonomy, and strong clinical support.
