A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a busy, supportive and highly skilled small animal practice in the Greater Manchester area. This is an excellent role for a vet who values teamwork, gold‑standard patient care and a positive, progressive working environment.
The Practice This is a well‑established, fast‑paced practice with an interesting and varied caseload. The team is committed to evidence‑based medicine, high clinical standards and a collaborative approach to patient care.
You will be joining a large, experienced and motivated team including:
- 5 Vets
- 8 RVNs
- 5 Receptionists
- 3 VCAs
The nursing team is particularly strong, with advanced diploma nurses, a certificate holder in anaesthesia, an ECC nurse and an ISFM Feline Nurse. The practice places a strong emphasis on auditing, protocols and continuous improvement.
The Role There is no fixed rota for this position. The practice is flexible and open to discussing the working pattern that best suits you. Ideally, they would like someone to join the Saturday rota:
- 1 in 5 Saturdays, 09:00–15:00
Consults are 20–30 minutes, supported by nurse‑led appointments. Admin time is built into the diary daily to ensure the team finishes on time and maintains a healthy work‑life balance.
The practice is looking for a vet who:
- Has experience in first‑opinion practice
- Communicates well with clients and colleagues
- Enjoys consulting and building client relationships
- Works well within a team and contributes ideas
- Is keen to develop clinically and personally
There is ample caseload to support further development, and the practice encourages vets to explore their own areas of interest.
Salary & Benefits
- Salary up to £65,000 depending on experience
- Generous CPD allowance with support for certificates
- Contributory pension scheme
- All professional memberships paid
- Access to exclusive reward and discount schemes
- Supportive, knowledgeable and friendly team environment
This is a great opportunity to join a practice that values its people, prioritises patient care and supports ongoing development.
