Are you an Orthopaedic Vet Surgeon looking for a new opportunity?
JR has that opportunity with our clients referral team in the Sale area of Greater Manchester. The ideal candidate for this role will have previous experience in this specialised role, however, there is flexibility to consider a less experienced candidate and provide training as long as they possess sound clinical understanding of orthopaedics.
Salary package of up to £130,000 per year.
Key Accountabilities:
- Perform a range of orthopaedic procedures.
- Conduct thorough pre-op assessments and post-op care to ensure patients receive the best possible treatment.
- Collaborate with the team to develop treatment plans and provide clients with care instructions.
- Utilise diagnostic laboratory, imaging and ultrasound testing where required.
- Prescribe medication.
- Promote preventative care by advocating and administering routine vaccinations and immunisations.
- Educate clients on positive lifestyle choices and preventative care for their pets.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to members of the support team.
- Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies & procedures.
- Maintain patients medical records.
All candidates need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine (BVetMed) or equivalent.
- To be RCVS registered
- Proficiency in diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions in animals.
- Surgical skills for performing routine and complex procedures.
- Knowledge of anaesthesia protocols and pain management.
- Ability to provide compassionate care and ensure the well-being of animals.
- Knowledge of animal behaviour and communication.
- Strong diagnostic skills and experience in using diagnostic equipment such as X-rays, ultrasounds, and blood analysers.
- Effective communication with colleagues and ability to explain medical conditions and treatment plans clearly to clients with empathy and compassion.
- Willingness to work collaboratively with other veterinary professionals, including veterinary nurses and support staff.
- Critical thinking skills to diagnose complex cases, make informed treatment decisions, handle emergency cases and provide critical care to animals.
- Adherence to high ethical standards in veterinary practice.
