Who They Are

This is a modern, purpose‑built small animal practice serving its local community for over 50 years. The site includes two surgical theatres, a dedicated nurse consulting room, spacious reception areas, and convenient client parking with nearby walking routes. The practice holds silver‑level cat‑friendly and dog‑friendly accreditations, supported by team members with additional feline and behaviour‑related qualifications.

The clinical environment includes digital radiography with a bucky table, dental radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, rhinoscopy, and a fully equipped in‑house laboratory. The team comprises veterinary surgeons with interests in internal medicine, general surgery, ophthalmology, and exotic species, supported by an experienced nursing team and a strong client‑care group.

The practice offers a collaborative culture with daily rounds, regular in‑house training, clinical governance meetings, and structured pathways for certificate study.

What You’ll Do

• Deliver first‑opinion consultations, routine surgical procedures, and medical work‑ups across a varied caseload.
• Work up to 32 hours per week, spread across 2, 3, or 4 days, depending on your preferred rota.
• Participate in a 1 in 4 Saturday rota, with no out‑of‑hours responsibilities.
• Utilise modern diagnostic equipment to support abdominal ultrasound, with opportunities to develop further imaging skills.
• Support the management of small mammals and exotic patients alongside the core small animal caseload.
• Work confidently during occasional sole‑charge shifts.
• Collaborate with colleagues across veterinary, nursing, and support teams to maintain effective, high‑quality clinical workflows.
• Communicate clearly with clients, developing tailored treatment plans aligned with patient needs and clinical best practice.

What They Need From You

RCVS Registration – eligibility to practise as a Veterinary Surgeon in the UK.

Clinical Competence – ability to deliver first‑opinion consultations, routine surgery, and imaging‑supported diagnostics.

Ultrasound Capability – basic proficiency in abdominal ultrasound to support medical caseloads.

Decision‑Making – confidence undertaking independent clinical assessments, including occasional sole‑charge shifts.
