Part-Time Veterinary Surgeon | Small Animal |South West England, UK
Join a modern, purpose-built small animal practice in South West England offering up to £37,500 per year (part-time, up to 32 hours/week).

This friendly and progressive team is looking for an enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon to help deliver high-quality care to a loyal and growing client base. You’ll enjoy access to excellent facilities, a collaborative team culture, and genuine support to develop your clinical interests.
The Role
This is a varied small animal position combining consultations, diagnostics, and surgery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering high-quality clinical care to small animal patients
- Performing routine and medical consultations
- Carrying out routine surgical procedures
- Working collaboratively with an experienced nursing and veterinary team
- Contributing to clinical discussions and ongoing practice development
- Providing occasional sole charge support on Saturdays (1:4 rota)
Working pattern:
- Up to 32 hours per week across 2–4 days
- 1 in 4 Saturdays
- No out-of-hours requirements
About the Practice
- You’ll be based in a well-equipped, purpose-built practice featuring:
- Dedicated surgical theatres and nurse consult rooms
- Digital radiography, dental X-ray, ultrasound, and endoscopy
- Fully equipped in-house laboratory
- Large, loyal, and long-standing client base
- Supportive team environment with certificate holders and advanced practitioners
- Strong focus on clinical standards, collaboration, and professional growth
Candidate Requirements
- We’re looking for a Veterinary Surgeon who is:
- RCVS registered and eligible to work in the UK
- Confident with routine consults and surgery
- Comfortable working occasional sole charge
- Competent in abdominal ultrasound (essential)
- Interested in diagnostic imaging (desirable)
- A strong communicator who enjoys working as part of a team
- Motivated to develop clinically and progress professionally
Salary & Benefits
- Salary up to £37,500 per annum (part-time, dependent on experience)
