We are on the look out for a dedicated and detail-oriented Official Veterinarian to join our clients team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the successful export of pets and animal products by preparing and signing Export Health Certificates (EHCs) and performing health checks.
As an Official Veterinarian, you will be an integral part of a growing business, ensuring that export processes run smoothly and efficiently. Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per year depending on experience
Location: Various Export Locations/Clients
Job Type: Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (occasional early start, late finish, or weekend work may be required)
Key Duties:
- Export Health Certification: Prepare and sign EHCs, ensuring compliance with current legislation and guidance. Inspect goods, packaging, and labelling to maintain integrity.
- Documentation: Send documentation within agreed timescales and email certified copies to relevant parties.
- Customer Relations: Establish and maintain productive working relationships with team members and export customers.
- Export Compliance: Understand export requirements for various species and administer necessary vaccinations and treatments.
- Health Checks: Perform health checks and issue fit-to-travel or other necessary documents for export.
- Team Management: Manage and work alongside a Certification Support Officer.
- Travel: Travel between export locations/clients as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine.
- Licences/Certifications:
- RCVS registration
- Valid Driving Licence
- OCQ(V) qualifications including EX (Exports General), ES (Essential Skills), PX (Product Exports).
- OCQ(V) SX (Small Animal Exports) and AX (Avian Exports) are beneficial.
- Experience: Basic knowledge or experience in export certification is essential.
- Skills: Proactive learner, strong organisational skills, and excellent communication skills.
