The Practice
This respected multi-site small animal group operates across South and West Yorkshire, including a 24/7 Tier 3 hospital with a dedicated on-site ECC night team — meaning no out-of-hours requirements for this role.
The Dewsbury hospital site is purpose-built and offers:
Fully equipped theatres
Digital X-ray and high-quality ultrasound
On-site CT
Dental suite with dental X-ray
Laparoscopy and endoscopy
Orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery
Cardiology services
Rehabilitation services (physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, laser therapy)
Separate cat and dog waiting areas
Minimum 15-minute consultations
Cat Friendly accredited clinics
The wider team includes multiple certificate holders and vets working towards advanced practitioner status, creating a collaborative and progressive clinical culture.
The Role
Full-time – 40 hours per week
Primary care Veterinary Surgeon with a strong surgical focus
Ideal for a vet holding or working towards a Surgical Certificate
No OOH (covered by dedicated night team)
Some contribution to weekend day rota required
You’ll work alongside a large, supportive veterinary team with excellent nursing and front-of-house support, encouraging open clinical discussion and professional growth.
About You
Veterinary degree registrable in the UK (MRCVS eligible)
Strong surgical interest and confidence
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Positive, proactive, and organised
Motivated to develop clinically within a hospital environment
Salary & Benefits
Up to £60,000 per annum (DOE)
