The Opportunity

We're working with a brand new, purpose-built practice in Mill Hill that is creating something rare: a clinic designed around people, not just performance. The leadership team is building a model where clinical excellence, financial health, and team wellbeing are treated with equal importance. They are looking for a Clinical Director who believes in the same balance.

This is not about being a figurehead. They want someone who genuinely enjoys leading from the front, spending most of their week clinically, while shaping a culture where every team member works to their full potential. Someone who sees the value in structure, communication, performance conversations, and evidence-based medicine. Someone who cares about doing things properly.

You will have real autonomy to direct the clinic, backed by a supportive central leadership team who want you to succeed. Success in this role looks like a thriving, cohesive team, a high standard of clinical care, strong membership growth and client experience, and a practice that breaks even early because it is run well.

Why This Role Is Different

Clinical Leadership With Teeth

You will spend around 80 percent of your time clinically, leading by example and ensuring teamwork, consistent standards, and evidence-based decision-making. Clinical governance and audits are part of the culture, not an afterthought.

A Team Built Around Growth

You will directly manage the vet team, the Head Nurse, and the Practice Manager. Regular one to ones, structured development plans, and clear communication channels are standard, not optional.

Ownership Of Performance

This clinic is a start-up, so your influence will genuinely shape its future. You will own local strategy, budgets, KPIs, and client acquisition, working closely with central support to hit financial milestones including time to break even.

Respect, early intervention, open feedback, psychological safety, and the use of tools such as Vetsafe are embedded in the culture. You will have the freedom to build a team culture that feels safe, supportive, and human.

A Practice That Wants To Be Part Of Its Community

You will help guide involvement in local events, schools, dog shows, and anything that strengthens the clinic’s roots in Mill Hill.

Your Journey Here

In Your First Month

You will settle into clinical work, get to know the team, understand the business model, and begin shaping clinical standards and communication rhythms.

In Your First 3 Months

You will be confidently directing clinical delivery, supporting membership growth, leading wellbeing initiatives, managing your direct reports, and embedding your approach to client care and case continuity.

In Your First 6 Months

You will be fully owning the clinic’s strategic direction, driving KPIs, improving efficiency, refining clinical governance, and helping the practice move toward early break-even. You will be the cultural and clinical anchor of the team.
