As we celebrate the 10th anniversary of our purpose built independent practice, we are expanding our team and looking for a 6th Day Veterinary Surgeon to join us caring for pets and exotics (including some Zoo Collections) in the beautiful North Norfolk Countryside. Experience in exotics is beneficial but not essential.
As this is an additional role we could accommodate a full time (4 day week) or part time role and would be happy to support a vet with a love of both consults and surgery as well as a vet who wanted a consult only role. Rota’s include regular 4 day weekends off work to allow mini breaks and our average 37 hour week allows a good work-life balance. We work an equal share of weekend days (Saturday morning consults and Saturday afternoon and Sunday daytime on call – full support always available) with time off in lieu and additional remuneration. Our dedicated on site Night Teams cover our weekday and weekend nights (6,30pm-8.30am) and also offer clients evening consultations to help our day vet diary management.
Our friendly and supportive day team includes vets with a wealth of experience (1 year, 4 years, 6 years, 15 years and 28 years qualified) including certificate holders in Zoological Medicine and Cardiology and our facilities and experience mean we are able to undertake complex medical and surgical procedures in house. Our RVN’s have a wide range of expertise and many have additional qualifications and undertake specialised clinics to aid our vets. Our ANA’s and Reception team are excellent at diary management and our days include built in administration time and Night-Day Team case rounds and handover periods. Many of our team members have been with us for almost 10 years.
Facilities include onsite CT scanner, video endoscopy, cryotherapy, laser therapy, digital xray and dental xray, brand new ultrasound machine and much more! We are accredited dog friendly, Gold Rabbit Friendly and Gold Cat Friendly and our practice cat Nema ensures we stick to our high standards!
We are happy to support certificates, have 2 (soon to be 4) VetGDP Advisors and offer a salary of £38,000-75,000 depending on experience. Relocation allowance is available. Professional fees paid, Company sick pay and private healthcare from 6 months, and increased holiday allowance to 33 days (equates to 8 x 4 day weeks) once you have been with us for 12 months.
We are lucky to be next door to beaches (you’ll even see Seals!) and woodland but also within easy reach of Norwich. London and Cambridge are a quick and straight forward train trip from the local station.
