An ambitious, well-invested independent small animal practice in North West London is looking for a Senior Veterinary Surgeon to step into a key clinical leadership role — hands-on, high-impact, and supported by one of the strongest nursing teams you'll find in first-opinion practice.
The nursing team is exceptional: 4 RVNs with Masters or Certificates, 3 VCAs, and overnight VCA cover. The facilities match: Storz endoscopy and arthroscopy, ultrasound, digital direct X-ray, in-house IDEXX laboratory — with CT imaging and physiotherapy and rehabilitation facilities both in the pipeline.
Strong internal medicine and diagnostic imaging capability is essential, including confidence performing heart scans — cardiology certificate not required. Routine soft tissue surgery expected; advanced surgery is not.
The client base is diverse, spanning a wide range of backgrounds and financial circumstances — clear, empathetic, and adaptable client communication is central to the role.
The key draws:
- £70,000–£90,000 DOE
- 40 hours, flexible rota, 1 in 4 Saturdays — no OOH or on-call
- Optional continuation of care for own critical cases — paid or TOIL
- Extended leave supported, including longer planned holidays
- Storz endoscopy and arthroscopy, ultrasound, digital X-ray, in-house IDEXX lab
- CT imaging and physiotherapy/rehabilitation facilities planned
- £1,500 CPD allowance with paid CPD leave and certificate support
- RCVS, BVA, and VDS fees paid
