My client seeks a motivated and skilled Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join their team on a permanent basis at a well-established veterinary practice in Retford. The role encompasses hands-on veterinary care for small animals, encompassing both emergency and routine healthcare. The successful candidate will collaborate with other Veterinary Surgeons and experienced Nurses.

Key Duties:
• Conduct consultations.
• Perform small animal surgical procedures.
• Undertake minor procedures.
• Liaise with clients.
• Develop treatment plans.
• Provide care for hospitalized animals.
• Handle sole charge responsibilities.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 6:00 pm, with Saturday mornings on a 1:3 rotation (8:30 am - 12:00 pm). Optional out-of-hours roster available, currently operating at 1:5 - 1:6 frequency. Out-of-hours duties may involve inpatient care, surgery, patient stabilization, or providing advice. Flexibility is provided to accommodate personal schedules, ensuring a balanced work-life dynamic at every career stage.
About the Practice:
The practice has served clients in and around Retford for over 50 years, boasting a team of 12 vets (including a small animal medicine certificate holder), 9 RVNs, and 2 SVNs. Services extend to farm and small animal clients, wildlife parks, and equine clients. The practice prioritizes exceptional patient, client, and employee care, supported by modern equipment such as ultrasound with Doppler and ECG, digital DR X-ray, dental X-ray, video endoscopy, and a full internal lab. Candidate Requirements:
Ideal candidates should demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills, with experience in a bustling small animal practice and proficiency in various surgical procedures. While experience in Orthopaedics is advantageous, it's not mandatory.
Qualifications: Veterinary Surgery degree. Experience: Post-graduate veterinary surgeon experience in the UK. Compliance: Registered with the RCVS. Travel: Valid UK driving license for independent commuting.
