Are you an experienced Surgeon ready to transition into a pivotal leadership role? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a respected, well-established practice that has served the local community for over 30 years.
Operating across two small animal sites in the Stafford and Rugeley areas, this practice is looking for a confident clinician to help guide the clinical team, mentor colleagues, and influence the future direction of the service.
The Role
As Lead Veterinary Surgeon, you will be the clinical heart of the practice, working closely with the Practice Manager to drive excellence across both sites.
- Influence & Strategy: Shape clinical protocols and best practices while maintaining a high level of day-to-day autonomy.
- Mentorship: Act as a supportive guide for the veterinary team (including a new graduate), sharing your knowledge to help colleagues grow in a positive learning environment.
- Modern Facilities: Work in recently renovated, light, and spacious premises. The Rugeley site features two theatres linked by glass, digital X-ray, Vista scanner, ultrasound, and dental radiography.
- High Standards: Both sites hold Cat-Friendly Silver status, Silver RWAF, and Green Investors in the Environment (iiE) accreditation.
The Rota
- Hours: 40 hours per week, comfortably spread over 4 days.
- Weekends: A fair 1:3 Saturday morning rotation only.
- Balance: No OOH responsibilities, allowing you to enjoy your time off fully.
- Collaboration: Benefit from a wider specialist network for case collaboration and a Schedule 3 trained nursing team that enables efficient, high-quality care.
What’s On Offer
- Financial: Competitive salary up to £70,000 (DOE)
- Time Off: 5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays and an extra day for your birthday.
- Development: Extensive funded external CPD, including dedicated leadership and management training.
- Health & Security: Life assurance, employer contribution pension, and enhanced equal family leave.
- Perks: Relocation support, RCVS/VDS fees paid, and an E-car salary sacrifice scheme.
