Lead a passionate veterinary team in a vibrant, community-focused clinic with a modern new facility. Working holiday visas welcome!
Are you an experienced Mixed Animal Vet ready for your next adventure — one where you can lead a dedicated team, shape clinical services, and immerse yourself in the Australian lifestyle?
We’re seeking a Clinical Lead Veterinarian to join a progressive, purpose-built mixed animal clinic located in a beautiful regional area of Australia. This is a unique opportunity to combine hands-on clinical work with meaningful leadership — all while enjoying the culture, nature, and lifestyle Australia has to offer.
This role is open to both Australian-based vets and international candidates, particularly those interested in a 6 to 12-month working holiday visa with the potential to extend for the right person.
About the Clinic
This is a well-established mixed animal practice with a strong community reputation and a collaborative, experienced team. You’ll be supported by a mix of senior and early-career vets, skilled nurses, and operational staff — all working together in a brand-new, custom-built clinic designed to support high-quality care across both companion and farm animals.
With access to in-house diagnostics, modern equipment, and a broad and varied caseload, the clinic is ideal for a vet who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys both small animal care and large animal fieldwork.
The Role
As Clinical Lead, you’ll play a central role in guiding the team, mentoring junior vets, and helping the clinic continue to grow and adapt to the evolving needs of the local community.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead a team of 6+ vets with a strong support network
- Deliver mixed animal veterinary care – workload tailored to your interests
- Support and mentor junior team members and new graduates
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture
- Engage with the local community and build client relationships
- Work closely with clinic management on clinical development and service delivery
- Flexible full-time hours available.
About You
You’re a confident mixed practitioner who enjoys leading by example and inspiring others. Whether you’re a local vet looking for a leadership opportunity or an overseas vet excited to experience Australia’s rural vet scene, we’d love to hear from you.
What you’ll bring:
- 5+ years' experience in mixed animal practice
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities
- Excellent communication and people management skills
- A collaborative, community-minded approach
- Interest in developing services and supporting a growing team
What’s on Offer
- Salary package up to AUD $200,000 for the right candidate
- Flexible visa sponsorship options (Working Holiday Visa encouraged for overseas vets – initial 6 months, extendable to 12 months, plus other visa options)
- Paid volunteer leave, wellness day, study leave, and parental leave
- Structured leadership development programs and CPD support
- Discounts on pet care and veterinary products
- A friendly, down-to-earth, and experienced team
- Access to national clinical support networks and secondment opportunities within a broader group of clinics (if long-term work is desired)
