Are you looking to gain further experience in orthopaedics, pursue a career in small animal surgery or develop a particular interest in small animal orthopaedic surgery?
If so, this could be the opportunity for you.
Anderson Abercromby Veterinary Referrals is a busy, dedicated small animal orthopaedic referral practice. Our veterinary team comprises an RCVS Specialist in Small Animal Surgery, an ECVS Diplomate in Small Animal Surgery and an RCVS Advanced Practitioner.
We are based in a refurbished building in a beautiful rural setting, with excellent facilities including two operating theatres and an on-site CT scanner. We are well equipped to manage the full range of orthopaedic procedures, including THR, TPLO, CUE and arthroscopy.
About the Role
As a Veterinary Orthopaedic Intern, you will assist our referral surgeons with the diagnosis and surgical management of referred cases. You will play an important role in the perioperative care of surgical patients under the supervision of our experienced referral surgeons, gaining valuable experience in all aspects of case management.
Depending on your experience, you will have opportunities to perform parts of routine surgeries, alongside benefiting from free in-house CPD in routine orthopaedic procedures.
The position is particularly suited to recent graduates or vets with a few years of general practice experience who are interested in developing their orthopaedic skills or pursuing a career in referral or specialist surgery.
Several of our previous interns have gone on to secure university residency positions, publish in peer-reviewed journals and become ECVS and RCVS Diplomates.
