We have a brilliant part time opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a family-run, RCVS Accredited 24-hour hospital in West Yorkshire. Whether you are looking to balance work with other commitments or simply want a role that fits around your life — this one is worth a serious look.
The Working Pattern
- Wednesday: 9:00am — 6:00pm (consults)
- Thursday: 9:00am — 8:00pm (consults)
- 1 in 4 weekends: choice of 7:30–6:00, 9:30–8:00 or 10:00–8:30 shifts
*Weekend shifts are ECC and booked emergency consults only — never sole charge, always supported by the full clinical team
The Role
This position is ideally suited to a vet with a general practice background who also has interests or experience in ECC, surgery or inpatient care. All consults run at 30 minutes as standard — giving you the time to do the job properly.
The hospital operates alongside a thriving first opinion practice, providing OOH and referral support to 16 referring surgeries. That means genuine clinical variety — the breadth of GP work combined with the depth of referral level cases, all under one roof.
If you have a special interest in ophthalmology, dermatology or feline medicine, there may be scope to develop your own referral clinics in time.
The Hospital
A purpose-built, state-of-the-art facility that has recently undergone a major extension — tripling working space, expanding the team and opening up even more flexibility in working patterns. The team now also works with an external CT imaging provider, improving case continuity for both vets and clients.
Within the clinical team there is a diverse range of certificate holders across surgery, medicine and dentistry, with active in-house CPD sessions, team WhatsApp groups for clinical discussion and a management team that includes a mental health first aider. One team member is also training as a life coach. This is a practice that genuinely invests in its people.
