Overview
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join a long-established independent veterinary group in West Yorkshire. With a strong local reputation, multiple modern branches and a busy hospital site, this practice offers an excellent caseload and the chance to work within a supportive, experienced team.
This role would suit a vet with 1–2+ years’ experience who is confident communicating with clients, enjoys a varied caseload, and is keen to develop their skills within a progressive independent practice that values clinical freedom.
The Role
You’ll be working across a varied small animal caseload within a well-equipped practice group that offers both branch and hospital-based work. Most vets are typically based between two sites to maintain continuity of care and client relationships.
The practice benefits from a large and loyal client base, ensuring an interesting and rewarding caseload across medicine and surgery. You’ll also have the opportunity to collaborate with a highly experienced team and access excellent facilities within the wider group.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality veterinary care across consultations and routine surgery
- Build strong relationships with clients through clear and compassionate communication
- Work collaboratively with experienced vets, nurses and support staff
- Contribute to the ongoing development of clinical standards and patient care
- Manage cases with a good level of clinical autonomy
Working Pattern
- Full-time – 40 hours per week
- 1 in 6 Saturdays (8:45am – 3:00pm)
- Optional 1 in 10 full weekend rota, with enhanced salary available
- Mix of branch and hospital work depending on preference and service needs

About You
- RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon
- 1–2+ years’ UK small animal experience preferred
- Excellent communication and client care skills
- A proactive, hard-working team player
- Keen to work in a busy practice with a varied caseload
