An exciting new opportunity has become available for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a busy, well-established 24/7 veterinary hospital in West Yorkshire. This family-run, multi-vet hospital offers an excellent caseload, a supportive environment, and access to a wide range of advanced procedures and technologies.
This is a full-time, permanent position best suited to experienced veterinary surgeons who enjoy complex consulting, inpatient care, and internal medicine. It is not suitable for new graduates or those unfamiliar with UK clinical practice.
🔍 What We’re Looking For:
- We are open to a variety of clinical interests within the consult and inpatient care remit. Specifically, we welcome:
- Consult-only vets looking to work in a high-standard primary and hospital care setting.
- Vets with a special interest in ophthalmology, who can combine consults with procedure/clinic days. There’s scope to develop referral-level services in this area.
- Experienced all-rounders comfortable managing inpatients and hospital-based cases, with interest in imaging or complex internal medicine.
**Please note: this is not a surgical role, as all surgical positions within the hospital are currently filled.
🗓 Key Details:
- Full-time (4 weekdays)
- 1 in 4 weekends (no sole charge, focused on ECC and inpatient care)
- 30-minute sick pet consults
- No bank holidays, no OOH
- CPD budget annually, with certificate support encouraged
- Collaborative environment for vets with special interests and certificate ambitions
✅ What You’ll Need:
- Minimum of 2+ years' UK clinical experience in small animal practice
- Confident with complex consults and managing inpatients
- Interest or certification in medicine, ophthalmology, or imaging welcomed
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
