NWVS CPD session at Chester Racecourse
A RACING SUCCESS FOR REFERRAL CENTRE
Vets from across North West England and North Wales enjoyed a change of scenery, during a symposium hosted by Northwest Veterinary Specialists (NWVS).
Chester Racecourse was the venue, as the Cheshire-based referral hospital hosted the CPD-led event.
The symposium was attended by 90 first opinion veterinary professionals and sponsored by Dechra and Boehringer. It followed on from NWVS’ inaugural symposium last year.
Presentations and CPD sessions including feline acromegaly, canine hyperadrenocorticism and diabetes, were delivered by specialists from NWVS, along with Eye Vet director Iona Mathieson BVMS CertVOphthal MRCVS.
“It was fantastic to see so many new and old faces from first opinion practices from across the region, and gave us a chance to demonstrate the expertise within NWVS,” said Louise Kurnaz, hospital director at Northwest Veterinary Specialists.
“We wanted to build on the success of last year’s symposium and add new elements to ensure vets, who refer to us, are provided with relevant and most up-to-date CPD content.
“By sharing new ways of supporting pet welfare and demonstrating these to fellow professionals, it showed how, by working together, we can provide the highest level of care to pets.
“Chester Racecourse was a really good venue and it was great to see vets catching up and comparing cases, particularly during time in the breakout area.
“Once again the feedback has been very positive, and we’ll be looking to do a further symposium, or perhaps two, in 2019.”
