Petplan, the UK’s favourite pet insurance provider, has announced top-rated comedian and impressionist Alistair McGowan as its compère for the 2010 Petplan Veterinary Awards.
McGowan is best known to British audiences for The Big Impression which was, for four years, one of BBC1’s top-rating comedy programmes – winning numerous awards, including a BAFTA in 2003.
“I’m really looking forward to hosting what I hear will be a very glamorous and unforgettable evening,” says McGowan.
The 11th annual Petplan Vet Awards, which celebrate the veterinary sectors top professionals across the UK, will be held on the 8th of April as part of the BSAVA congress in Birmingham. Previous compères for the awards include Jason Manford, Michael McIntyre and Frankie Boyle.

“We’re all excited about having Alistair as our compère this year, who I’m sure will keep everyone highly entertained on what will be another glittering awards ceremony.”
This year over 1,800 nominations, from customers and colleagues, have been received for the following categories – Vet of the Year, Vet Nurse of the Year, Receptionist of the Year and Practice of the Year. 4153 views
