BSAVA Congress Clinical Abstract Presentations Online Return
Following the success of last year’s sessions, the BSAVA Congress Clinical Abstract Presentations Online will return on 24-26 May 2021 using a free to attend online video conferencing solution.
A diverse programme of clinical abstracts has always been an integral part of Congress, where researchers alongside vets, vet nurses and practice staff share the latest research, unusual case reports and novel procedures.
With an extra day added, the online sessions will include more than 125 presentations covering topics such as oncology, orthopaedics and soft tissue surgery, presented by the profession from around the world. Each session will be chaired, with an opportunity for Q&As following each presentation.
For the first time this year, presentations will be given by some of the students participating in the updated BSAVA-PetSavers Student Research Project. The format for these projects has recently been revised to give students the opportunity to present in a supportive BSAVA-PetSavers Student Grants module.
In 2020 a number of Congress research abstracts were presented live over two days, achieving the largest audience for clinical abstracts in Congress’ history with an average of 160 attendees at each of the sessions. The event attracted a big international audience, with presenters participating from Finland to Indiana.
Joe Fenn, BSAVA Congress clinical abstracts chair, said: “Building on the success of the 2020 BSAVA Congress clinical abstract sessions, we are delighted to have expanded our abstracts programme from two to three days, to accommodate the wide range of excellent submissions we received. By bringing interactive clinical abstracts to an international veterinary audience, we are providing clinical researchers with a unique opportunity to share their work with a global network of colleagues.”
Over 40 Clinical Abstract posters were hosted at BSAVA Virtual Congress 25th- 27th March 2021. Access to all scientific content including the posters is still available until 22nd May, with the BSAVA Congress clinical abstract oral presentations concluding the event.
