Today, on International Earth Day, Davies Veterinary Specialists (Davies) the small animal referral practice based in Hertfordshire, is pleased to announce the appointment of Ellie West as Linnaeus Environmental Sustainability Lead.

Ellie West, European Specialist in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia, pioneered the sustainability work at Davies back in 2017 and continues to be a driving force. The small animal referral centre was the first UK veterinary practice to have achieved accreditation from iiE, in 2018. They were awarded Green level accreditation in 2019 - the highest level awarded, and Ellie also achieved Best Green Champion at the IiE awards ceremony last year.

In addition to continuing to work within the anaesthesia team at Davies, Ellie will be building on the foundations of her award-winning achievements at Davies to lead change across all the Linnaeus practices. The ambition is to facilitate processes to develop sustainable working practices within the entire UK group.

Tim Richardson, Managing Director of Davies said: “We are all very proud of Ellie’s new appointment which not only recognises her impressive expertise and tireless commitment to sustainability, but also showcases Davies’ role as an industry leader with this important work. It’s even more inspiring that her appointment has coincided with International Earth Day.”
