Renowned veterinary imaging experts have developed cutting-edge software to overcome the most persistent challenges when scanning horses

A global leader in advanced diagnostic imaging solutions has announced the launch of pioneering technology to offer unparalleled clarity and accuracy of image in standing horses.

Hallmarq Veterinary Imaging has launch SEEMORE, a powerful integration of its iNAV motion correction and pAIce AI imaging software, to address the most persistent challenges in equine MRI – namely patient movement and scan time.

Hallmarq’s standing equine MRI has long been considered the gold standard for imaging the distal limb without general anaesthesia. However, with the introduction of SEEMORE, this capability is now transformed.

The software provides superior diagnostic quality across the entire limb, particularly in the notoriously challenging proximal and high-motion areas.

The first component of SEEMORE is iNAV. Hallmarq’s advanced motion correction technology tracks the position of the horse’s limb three times per second during acquisition, dramatically reducing the impact of patient movement to preserve diagnostic integrity.

This is especially critical for imaging areas such as the fetlock, tarsus, carpus and high suspensory ligament, where even slight movement can compromise image quality.

DENOISING ALGORITHMS

The second component, pAIce, uses advanced AI denoising algorithms to remove image noise while maintaining resolution and contrast.

PAIce enables scan time reductions of between 50 to 75 per cent, meaning less time under sedation for the patient and increased efficiency for the practice. Faster scans also further reduce the potential for movement, reinforcing the quality of the final image.

Steve Roberts, Chief Technology Officer at Hallmarq Veterinary Imaging, said SEEMORE will prove to be transformative in offering pinpoint accuracy in equine imaging.

“Together, iNAV and pAIce fundamentally change the risk/benefit assessment of scanning above the foot in the standing horse. Their implementation paves the way for a much wider range of cases that may previously have been overlooked as unsuitable for standing MRI,” he said.
