Harrison Family Vets opens a new practice in Tyldesley.
Harrison Family Vets Open Sixth Practice In Three Years
Harrison Family Vets has invested £350,000 in a new practice in Tyldesley, Wigan. It’s the sixth practice that the independent and family-owned veterinary group has opened since 2021.
Harrison Family Vets is a fast-growing group which now has practices in Reading, the Midlands, Manchester, Stockton, Doncaster and Tyldesley, and it plans to open practices in Leeds, Stoke, Darlington and Newcastle.
Operations director, Kristie Faulkner, said: “We like to do things differently and that’s why we are always looking at new ways to deliver the very best care to our pets and clients. At Tyldesley we have invested in state-of-the-art Casco cat, dog and exotic pet kennels, which have built in heat pads, an innovative lighting system enabling daylight or red light to aid recovery and a cleaning mode to illuminate organic materials and ensure they can be kept spotless. A removeable partition allows cats to use their litter trays in one area and sleep in another, as well as enabling cats who live together to stay together when they are treated at the practice.
“We are also very mindful of the cost of veterinary treatments, which can be a real concern for pet owners, but as an independently owned business, our clients can be confident that we will do the right thing by them and price as affordably as possible. Our total wellness plan is one of the best value offerings on the market, and it provides preventative products and services to keep dogs, cats and rabbits healthy, in addition to unlimited free vet consultations and discounts on neutering, dental treatments and even premium pet food, for a low monthly price.”
Managing director, Tim Harrison, said: “Something else we are hugely proud of, and we feel sets us apart from our competitors, is the fact that our teams are all working towards the Fear Free Accreditation. Our Reading practice was the first outside North America to achieve the coveted Fear Free Veterinary Practice Certification, for which we underwent a rigorous assessment and inspection process to become the first veterinary practice in the UK to be awarded Fear Free status, so it’s a big win for us. To significantly reduce fear, stress and anxiety for both pets and their owners, helping to make every pet’s visit to Harrison Family Vets as positive as possible, is the ultimate goal.”
The new practice in Tyldesley also includes the Harrison Family Vets standard of an innovative waiting area, with bespoke pods that are all spaced at least two metres apart, giving clients their own space and shielding pets from the stresses of facing other pets in a traditional waiting room. Each pod has its own screen displaying pet jokes and facts, as well as information about pet welfare and nutrition.
The separate cat and dog wards have also all been designed with mood lighting, pet-friendly aromas and pheromones plus music to create a calming atmosphere. In addition, the practice has five consulting rooms, a digital X-ray suite, dental suite which includes dental X-ray facilities, an operating theatre and ultrasonography.
