HRH The Princess Royal Attends BEVA Congress

BEVA Council was honoured to receive Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal at BEVA Congress on Friday 12 September 2025. Her Royal Highness, as Patron of BEVA, gave a short speech and presented BEVA’s Annual Awards.
The Princess Royal’s address followed Prof. Scott Weese’s plenary lecture on how to optimise antimicrobial use. The Professor highlighted BEVA’s work to promote responsible antibiotic use and encouraged delegates to engage with the Association’s MonitorME programme which enables benchmarking and identifies areas for improvement.
Her Royal Highness presented BEVA’s Annual Awards to some of the profession’s most outstanding contributors to equine veterinary science, health and welfare.
David Mountford, Chief Executive of BEVA said: “It was great to hear The Princess Royal support our efforts. We are privileged to have her as our Patron. She also made our Awards ceremony even more special for the recipients.”
