Elanco Animal Health has appointed James White to the role of Marketing Associate for the company’s livestock portfolio. James will be responsible for established brands well known to the veterinary and farming professions, including Dectomax®, Vecoxan®, Tylan® and Flukiver®.
The veterinary industry is familiar territory for James who started his career in veterinary nursing back in 1989. A 14-year career in practice as a qualified nurse saw him move up to the position of Head Nurse and then into management. In 2003 he switched into industry working in dairy and livestock areas, before working his way up to the position of Business Consultant. He joined Elanco last year, initially working as a key account manager before moving into his current role.
While there were relatively few male nurses when James joined the profession 24 years ago, it has proved to be a wise career choice, “Nursing was a great experience and I loved working at the front line of veterinary practice but it has also been the perfect springboard for working within the veterinary industry, where I have had gained new skills and faced new challenges.”
James says he is enjoying the prospect of tackling his new role, “Elanco is a strong and growing animal health company that has some great products to offer. I’m looking forward to working closely with vets and SQPs to ensure they have all the information they need about these key brands.”
