Platform partners with The Webinar Vet and IFEVET to reward personal activity with
professional development.
A leading direct-connection platform for veterinary locums and practices has launched a UK-first scheme which automatically unlocks CPD discounts when locums complete shifts.
Ronda.vet has embarked on what it believes to be a unique initiative designed to address two persistent pressures facing the profession – locum workforce instability and the cost of continuing professional development.
The direct-booking platform, which launched in summer 2025 and since registered more than 1,800 users across 100-plus UK practices, has signed preferred-partner agreements with The Webinar Vet and IFEVET. Both deals tie reward thresholds directly to locum activity on the platform.
Under the arrangement with The Webinar Vet – Ronda’s designated short-form CPD partner – locums who complete 15 shifts unlock a 30 per cent discount on The Webinar Vet Unlimited Membership, providing access to hundreds of hours of RCVS-accredited content.
IFEVET International, a leading European provider of university-accredited postgraduate veterinary education, becomes Ronda’s partner for advanced and career-level, with discounts scaling from £50 (five shifts) to £1,200 (100 shifts).
Practices benefit, too, with the IFEVET International partnership extending to training discounts for permanent members of staff, providing a structured pathway for team development, retention and clinical upskilling without additional administrative burden or prohibitive cost.
Ibra Hernando, co-founder, Ronda.vet, and veterinary surgeon, said: “CPD has always been a priority for vets and RVNs, but access to it shouldn’t depend on how big your employer is or how stable your schedule looks.
“We built Ronda to give locums real control over their careers and these partnerships – in what we believe is a UK first for a platform such as Ronda – take that further. The more you work, the more opportunities open up. That feels right to us.”
The launch comes at a time of heightened focus on locum workforce issues within UK veterinary practice.
RCVS workforce data has repeatedly highlighted shortfalls in permanent clinical staffing, with locum dependency increasing across both small-animal and mixed-practice settings.
Ronda argues that rewarding locums for professional development, rather than leaving CPD as a personal cost and logistical afterthought, reflects where progressive employment models in the sector are heading.
The platform’s own data suggests demand for transparent, development-oriented engagement is real, reporting that locums consistently prioritise platforms offering clear booking terms and measurable career progression.
Ibra said: “By connecting shifts directly to CPD, we are giving practices more reasons to move away from agency dependency – not because we say so, but because the numbers make sense.”
The CPD reward scheme is live now for all registered Ronda users. Practices and locums can register at www.ronda.vet.
