Novartis Animal Health is inviting vets and SQPs to take part in a series of CPD (Continued Professional Development) meetings that will provide an update on the major parasites of importance in cattle.
The meetings will take place at locations around the country in October and feature two talks. The first will be ‘Cattle Ectoparasites: What’s New and Important?’ and the second talk will be ‘Update on Fluke and Recommendations for Parasite Control at Housing’. The events will allow SQPs to gain CPD points.
Dr Peter Bates, (Veterinary Medical Entomology Consultancy), or Dr Sian Mitchell MRCVS, (Veterinary Laboratories Agency) will be speaking first with the second talks being given by one of the Novartis Animal Health Professional Services Veterinarians.
The meetings will take place at
Smiths Hotel, Gretna Green at 7pm on 4th October;
The Mytton and Mermaid, Atcham, Shrewsbury, and The Forge Hotel, St Clears, Carmarthenshire, at 7pm on 5th October;
The Venue at Park Hall, Oswestry, Shropshire at 12pm and at the Padbrook Park Hotel, Cullompton, Devon at 7pm on 6th October.
Helen Langham, Novartis Brand Manager says : “This is an ideal opportunity for prescribers of animal health products to receive up to date information from key speakers about the important ectoparasites of cattle including all types of mange and lice. Alongside this, we recognise liver fluke continues to be of increasing importance so will give the latest advice and recommendations about how to effectively treat for this serious disease. Bringing the sessions together, we will end with the provision of a suggested protocol for cattle parasite control for the winter”.
“The events will also be an opportunity to meet and speak with fellow colleagues in an informal environment, and there will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions of our speakers. SQPs will have the chance to earn CPD points and vets CPD hours from these meetings and food will be provided,” she said.
