Lumbry Park Awarded RCVS Hospital Status

Referral hospital Lumbry Park Veterinary Specialists has been accredited as a Hospital by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) under its Practice Standards Scheme. The prestigious accreditation is awarded to veterinary practices following an inspection by a Practice Standards Scheme Assessor and indicates that the practice provides a higher level of service to patients and owners.
Lumbry Park Veterinary Specialists, based in Alton, Hampshire, is one of the most advanced, multi-disciplinary specialist veterinary hospitals in the UK and forms part of CVS’ rapidly growing referral network. The RCVS Practice Standards Scheme aims to maintain and improve clinical standards by monitoring performance and the outcome of treatments.
Commenting on the award of Hospital status, Lumbry Park Hospital Director Mr Ray Girotti said: “We wanted to participate in the Practice Standards Scheme to benchmark the service we offer to our patients and their owners against the best veterinary hospitals in the country. The whole team has worked together to get us to this stage and we are delighted that our efforts have been recognised by the RCVS with the award of Hospital status.”
In their report, RCVS assessors highlighted the calm and professional environment at Lumbry Park, which they said, taken together with the enthusiasm of the team provided a very positive overall feel. Its provision of separate dog and cat patient visiting rooms was also referenced as a good use of space and support for clients, especially with the potential for long stay cases.
