New Book Remembering Rhinos Set To Raise Funds For Rhino Protection
Incredible images by some of the world’s best wildlife photographers will be brought together in a beautiful new book for 2017 - a follow-up to Remembering Elephants
Wildlife Photographers United and Born Free Foundation are delighted to announce the launch of Remembering Rhinos, a breath-taking new project featuring work by more than 50 of the world’s top wildlife photographers, including Art Wolfe, Frans Lanting and Steve Winter.
Following the incredible success of Remembering Elephants, which has raised more than £130k to date for the Born Free Foundation’s elephant protection work in Africa, Remembering Rhinos will showcase extraordinary images of these incredible creatures which are now critically endangered across Africa and Asia.
Like Remembering Elephants, the new book will be funded by a Kickstarter campaign, which launches at 9am on Friday 10th February and will run until Sunday 12th March.

Public support for the project is vital to ensure that the book goes ahead, and there are a number of special incentives and rewards for those who pledge money through the Kickstarter campaign, whether that’s £5 or £3,000 (the cost of the number one book in this limited edition series). The Kickstarter campaign will allow supporters to pre-order a copy of Remembering Rhinos, and fund the creation of this highly collectible publication. Pre-ordered books cost £40 each (RRP £45) plus postage, and there is also the opportunity to purchase a reprint (second edition) of the Remembering Elephants book through the site.
Remembering Elephants and Rhinos founder, Margot Raggett, said: “The response to Remembering Elephants was so overwhelmingly positive that we realised very quickly there had to be a follow up. With the poaching situation for rhinos as bad as it is, it seemed a natural progression for us to concentrate on them next. Once again, all funds raised will therefore be going into Born Free’s anti-poaching efforts.”
Born Free’s President, Will Travers OBE, said: “Funds raised by Remembering Elephants have allowed Born Free to make meaningful contributions to elephant and wildlife protection in Kenya, Ethiopia, Mali, Malawi and Zimbabwe. Given the crisis facing wild rhino, Remembering Rhinos could not have come at a more important time and I’m thrilled that Wildlife Photographers United has teamed up with Born Free to once again produce what I know will be an outstanding book which will help save rhinos from extinction. I will be pre-ordering my copy through Kickstarter as soon as I can!”
