Twycross Zoo – East Midland Zoological Society, the World Primate Centre, is pleased to announce that Hassan Syed has joined the company. Hassan is the latest addition to the Twycross leadership team, where he has taken on the role of Resource Director. He will lead Finance, Human Resources, Technology and the Knowledge Hub at the Zoo. Prior to joining Twycross Zoo, Hassan held a leadership role at the International Species Information System (ISIS). In this position, Hassan built and led the team that delivered the Zoological Information Management System (ZIMS) for the aquaria and zoos of the world. "We are growing fast and aggressively recruiting highly committed individuals with the kind of drive and leadership that Hassan brings to the team," stated Suzanne Boardman, the CEO of the East Midland Zoological Society. “He brings a broad range of expertise and experience to our Zoo with his commitment towards information sharing that continues to define the culture of knowledge sharing within our community of aquaria and zoos", she added. Hassan completes the current directorate leadership team, joining Dr Sharon Redrobe (Life Sciences Director), Robert Bracken (Commercial Director) and Neil Woodward (Estates Director). “Twycross Zoo - East Midland Zoological Society is a fast moving and fast developing organisation which has secured external funding at a level and rate unprecedented in the UK zoo community. We are currently developing a large-scale new great ape facility after several massive infrastructure projects that have been completed with great success. The development of the site continues to accelerate, making it a very exciting environment in which to work, and one where we need to apply all our experience and skills”, Suzanne explained. According to Hassan, "Twycross Zoo is exactly the type of organisation for which I have been looking to work. It is growing fast, is open to new ideas, values the contributions of its employees and has a great vision for the future of the Zoo and knowledge sharing within our community.” Hassan added further that "this exciting new position is taking full advantage of my general experience over a working career of 25 years, which includes strategy development, finance, project management and operations. I am now in a position to be able to utilise my experience in another forward-looking organisation, which can make a real and meaningful impact on the world."
