New Quality Manager For SPILLERS Team
The makers of SPILLERS™ have appointed a new Quality Manager to ensure the continued delivery of premium quality and value across their renowned range of horse feeds.
Laura Callaghan, who has been with the brand for ten years, has been promoted from Quality Team Leader to Quality Manager. The feed brand adheres to strict internal and external quality standards and Laura’s new role embraces leading a team of quality technologists to manage and promote the quality assurance functions of the SPILLERS business and to maintain the company’s external and Mars-led quality accreditations including BSI ISO 9001, UFAS and BETA NOPS.
Laura’s remit includes managing daily quality meetings, held in the in-house SPILLERS laboratory where at least one product from every batch of feed manufactured is carefully inspected. This ensures that the feeds produced meet the highest standards to provide the very best consistent nutrition. Under the BETA NOPS Code the risk of NOPS contamination is evaluated during every step of the manufacturing process, including the sourcing, storage, transport and actual manufacturing of every SPILLERS product
Laura joined MARS Horsecare UK Ltd as a customer support advisor at the end of 2012. She went on to work in the accounts department before joining the Quality Team as a Quality & Food Safety Technologist. She was promoted to Quality Team Leader in 2018.
Laura said: “I am delighted to have been appointed Quality Manager for SPILLERS, a brand I am proud to have been associated with for the past decade. I enthusiastically embrace the responsibilities of my new role in ensuring the continued delivery of quality and value to our customers and not least the thousands of horses and ponies that are fed on SPILLERS every day.”
Gordon Smith, General Manager of Mars Horsecare UK Ltd said: “We are extremely pleased to have Laura on board at managerial level. With her considerable knowledge of the brand, together with her expertise in all aspects of quality, she further enhances our consistent delivery of exceptional and reliable quality across our substantial product portfolio.”
